✅ It is mandatory to have two spikes connected by a flexible link when fishing on ice. Do not forget that the spikes should be carried in an easily accessible place so that in the event of an unexpected breakage of ice, they can be used immediately.
❌ It is prohibited to be on ice in bodies of water when the condition of the ice poses a danger to people’s life or health, when a thin ice cover has formed or when the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMS) has announced that the ice condition that may pose a danger to people’s life or health.
✅ It is safe for a person to climb on ice when it is thicker than 7 cm, and for the ice to support a group of people, the thickness must be at least 12 cm.
